Another species that is widely distributed in Derbyshire and locally fairly common. Its population density fluctuates considerably from one year to the next and in some years can be very scarce or even absent from favoured areas. On the wing May- August.

Food plant - The flower buds of hawkweeds and hawk’s beards, sow thistles and other closely-related plants.
