2185 Lead-coloured Drab - Orthosia populeti.

Trapped - Melbourne, Derbyshire - 2003 left & 2005 right.
An uncommon and locally distributed species in Derbyshire. It now appears to be restricted to areas of South Derbyshire where Populus tremula (Aspen), the larval food plant is found. Note the visible feathered antennae indicating these specimens to be males.
On the wing March - April.

Food plant - Aspen, Black Poplar and sometimes other poplars.
