A spring species widely distributed and reasonably common in some areas of Derbyshire. It is found in old woodlands throughout the county generally in larger numbers in the south of the county. Two colour forms are pictured. These two are males due to the visibly obvious feathered antennae.
On the wing from March - April.

Food plant - A wide of trees & woody plants including oaks, sallows and Honeysuckle.
