2199 Common Wainscot - Mythimna pallens.

Trapped - Melbourne, Derbyshire. 2002-2004

A common and widely distributed species in Derbyshire. One of the most abundant species of macro-
lepidoptera in lowland areas of Derbyshire. The usual whitish hind-wing distinguishes this species from Smoky and Southern. Also often has a pinkish-brown tone to the forewing.
On the wing from June-July & August - October.

Food plant - Grasses including Cock’s-foot & Common Couch.
