2271 Orange Sallow - Xanthia citrago.

Trapped - Melbourne, Derbyshire - September 2003.
An uncommon and locally distributed species in Derbyshire. According to the literature, this moth frequents Lime trees and rarely comes to M.V.Light. This specimen, although worn, was trapped in the garden at M.V.Light and there are very few Lime trees in the area? Fairly easy to identify. Note the overall orange appearance and the red-brown lines and veins across the forewing.
On the wing from August - early October.

Food plant - Native & introduced Lime Trees.
