ABOUT

2280 The Miller - Acronicta leporina.

Trapped - Melbourne, Derbyshire - May 2004 & June 2004.
This species is not common in Derbyshire but appears to be well distributed. However it is only recorded each season in very small numbers. The most favoured locations seem to be old deciduous lowland woods, especially in the Trent Valley area. A fairly straight forward species to identify.
On the wing from late May - early August.

Food plant - Downy & Silver Birch and Alder. Sometimes Aspen, oaks, Black Poplar and Grey Willow.
