2279 The Sycamore - Acronicta aceris.

Trapped - Kings Newton, Melbourne, Derbyshire - June 2003.
In Butterflies & Moths of Derbyshire 1986 described as status uncertain, a single record prior to 1905. In 1995 still described as a local species with single records in 1993,94,95. Currently still appears to be a very local moth in the county. On the wing from late May - early August.

Food plant - Downy & Silver Birch and Alder. Sometimes Aspen, oaks, Black Poplar and Grey Willow.
