RING-NECKED DUCK

Ring-necked Duck - Aythya collaris - Drake.

Long Eaton Gravel Pit complex, Derbyshire November 2004.

This bird has been here for just over a fortnight and is now the longest staying Ring Neck Duck
that has been recorded in Derbyshire. In my opinion it does not show a classic head
Shape for the species, nevertheless a well marked bill, strongly coloured.

These pictures were digiscoped using my usual Leica scope / Coolpix combination.
