Bufflehead - Bucephala albeola.

Barrow-upon-Trent Gravel Pits, South Derbyshire - 20th June 2004.

This drake was found by Richard James and Rod Key this afternoon and represents the first Derbyshire record of this species. Digiscoped at distance as bird was on working pits and area off limits to public. The bird was also very flighty and wary. Taken with Leica Televid and Coolpix 995.

To my knowledge these were the only photos taken of this bird !!.
