Widely distributed and fairly common, with the highest numbers recorded on the Coal Measures of central-east Derbyshire. The bottom 2 pictures show the 2 distinct colour forms - with the dark reddish form
combusta on the right. On the wing from late May - July.

Food plant - Grasses including Cock’s foot.
