ABOUT

Hi there,

I was born in Derby and I currently live with my wife,
Helen, in a small market gardening town in the South of
the county, in England. I am very grateful to her for putting up with endless days of twitching and now, endless evenings of mothing!

I was just eight years old when my father introduced me
to bird-watching, and today I am as enthusiastic as ever.

White Speck - Mythimna unipuncta
St.Agnes, Isles of Scilly.

It was through staying on St.Agnes that I became interested in Moths. During October 2000 I can remember viewing a number of rare species that had been trapped overnight by Mike Hicks, the islands resident moth expert. Old World Webworm and Porter's Rustic spring to mind.

I enjoy drawing and painting but recently and mainly due to the arrival of Digital Cameras and Digiscoping, I have found a new interest in photography. Some of my results you can find elsewhere on the pages of my website. I also enjoy riding my Harley Davidson
Motorbike, a new addition to my hobbies !!
