A migrant species to Britain, sometimes recorded in hundreds. I can find only 1 record in Derbyshire, 1989 at Kinder. This species has a distinctive resting posture, the narrow wings are wrapped around the body rather than held flat. Note also the pale orange oval and kidney shaped mark on the forewing. As a migrant chiefly on the wing from June - October.

Food plant - A wide range of plants including docks, Groundsel and Dandelion.
