GLAUCOUS GULL

In my opinion, not a classic “White-winged” 1st winter Glaucous Gull. However, note
the classic first winter pink bill with black tip. The overall colour of the bird is uniform throughout, showing no obvious signs of darker markings. The bird also shows a distinctive “secondary bulge”.
My initial concerns with this bird were the dark chevrons/arrowheads in the primaries and the lack of any “white-winged” appearance. However this seems to be in line with and is fairly typical of, 1st winter Glaucous Gull.
