1874 Dingy Shell - Euchoeca nebulata.

Trapped - Kings Newton, Melbourne, Derbyshire July 2005
.

Classed as an uncommon and locally distributed species in Derbyshire. It appears to survive wherever there are remnants of old alder carr but appears to be less common now than formerly, due to the destruction of this type of habitat. It very rarely opens its wings and always rests with wings closed. On the wing from May - early August.

Food plant - Alder.
