Widely distributed and fairly common locally throughout Derbyshire. It was a generally common species until the large scale loss of elm trees, the larval food plant. At some locations it still remains a common species, particularly in the northern half of the county. On the wing from September - November.

Food plant - Wych Elm, Aspen, poplars, sallows and Ash.
