Widely distributed but not common in Derbyshire. It is present in all areas of the county and is associated with well wooded localities, particularly where there are ancient woodlands such as the Trent Valley, Matlock, Via Gellia and Shipley Park.
On the wing from September - November.

Food plant - Oaks, poplars, Beech, sallows, hawthorn and herbaceous plants.
