A common and widely distributed species in Derbyshire. Although sometimes recorded in the spring, this species is typically seen during the autumn. Common in deciduous woodland in all areas of the county. On the wing from late September - May.

Food plant - Blackthorn, hawthorn, oaks, elms and Downy Birch.
