2241 Red Swordgrass - Xylena vetusta.

Trapped - Skye of Curr, Speyside, Highland. 29th April 2006.

A local species that is resident and also a possible migrant in Britain. Seems to be fairly frequent in Scotland and the Hebrides. Local and rare in England and there is a wide scatter of records from the Midlands and East Anglia, which may refer to migrants or wanderers.
On the wing from September to November, reappearing in March - late May

Food plant - Woody and herbaceous plants including Bog-myrtle & heathers, Yellow Iris and sedges.
