ABOUT

1681 Clay Triple-lines - Cyclophora linearia.

Trapped - Robin Wood, South Derbyshire - 23rd June 2006.

The current status of this species in Derbyshire is probably locally rare. Up to 1986 there were only 4 records of the species, 2 in 1885; 1 Poolsbrook 1911 and 1 Chatsworth 1984. The only other modern day record I can find relates to 1 at Darley Dale in 2002. This is therefore a very rare moth in South Derbyshire. On the wing from late May -early July.

Food plant - Beech.
