ABOUT

1680 - Maiden’s Blush - Cyclophora puntaria.

This species now appears to be very rare and extremely localised in Derbyshire. During the 1930‘s it was reported to be very common in Repton Shrubs, however, since the 1940‘s there have been very few records reported and this specimen appears to be the first record since at least 1996.
The species favours ancient oak woodland.
On the wing early May - early July.
