ABOUT

2410 - Marbled White Spot - Protodeltote pygarga.

A species that seems to be expanding its range but appears to have not yet colonised Derbyshire. It is regularly recorded from Staffs & Notts. This specimen is potentially the second record for the county, with the first record being from Darley Dale, near Matlock, in 2004. It certainly seems to be the first record for South Derbyshire. The species favours woodland, grassy heathland and moorland.
On the wing late May - July.

Food plant - A variety of grasses
