A nationally local moth species. In Derbyshire it is scarce and locally distributed, particularly favouring the south of the county. It was only added to the county list in 1973. On the wing from May - June

Food plant - Leaves, flowers and buds of Holly, Ivy, Wild Privet, Dogwood, Guelder Rose and Hawthorn.
