1926 Pale Brindled Beauty - Phigalia pilosaria.

A widely distributed and locally common species in Derbyshire. This moth is on the wing from January to late April and favours deciduous woodland. It is most common in the ancient woodlands in the south of the county. The melanic form
monacharia predominates in all areas. On the wing from January - March.

Food plant - A wide range of broadleaved trees and shrubs.
