1935 Mottled Umber - Erannis defoliaria.

Trapped - Foremark Reservoir, Derbyshire - 18th November 2003.

A common and widely distributed species in Derbyshire. It favours woodlands and hedgerows in all areas of the county. Note these two distinct forms, there are also two other brown forms which are less contrasting in colours.
On the wing from early October to early December.

Food plant - A wide range of broadleaved trees, shrubs.
