1956 Common Wave - Cabera exanthemata.

Trapped - Kings Newton, Derbyshire -21st June 2003.

Although this species is widely distributed throughout Derbyshire, it is generally uncommon. It is usually found where Salix grows in profusion. The species can easily be confused with Common White Wave (Cabera pusaria). On pusaria the 3 lines across the forewing are straight and silver-grey. The 2 on the hindwing are less distinct.
On the wing during May-early July and early July - September.

Food plant - Goat Willow, Grey Willow and other sallows, Aspen and other poplars.
