STATUS Last recorded 2022 – A resident and locally common species in Derbyshire. Widely distributed found in birch woods throughout the county. The main density of populations are in the south.
 
ID POINTERS – The moth gets its name from a rather pebble like spot in the centre of the forewing. There is also a blurred brown line running across the lower forewing and a purplish mark near the wing tip.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing – May through August.
