Tortricidae – Olethreutinae – Cydia splendana

STATUS Locally common where there is oak woodland.

ID POINTERS – Base of forewing pale greyish, speckled with darker brown with whitish-grey cross-bands. Rear end of forewing darker brown suffused with metallic purple blotches and four or five black dashes. Cydia pomonella has  longer wings, a large coppery ocellus and fine transverse brownish lines

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing during July – October.
