STATUS – A resident species that is widely distributed and fairly common in Derbyshire.
 
ID POINTERS – The moth is fairly straight forward to identify – The male is brightly marked with distinctive orange-brown forewing intricately marked with white lines that run diagonal across the wing. The female is duller and less brightly marked. The lines are pale buff with heavier blotching on the forewings. 
 
FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing late June- September.
