STATUS – A resident and generally common locally throughout South Derbyshire. It has a restricted distribution with most of the population resident in areas south of the Trent Valley. Rare or absent from the north of the county. 
 
ID POINTERS – Chequered fringes to fore and hind wings, wavy cross-lines and a single cross-line on hind wing that has a sharp central projection and pointed forewings help to confirm the ID.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing – June – July.
