STATUS – A resident that is widely distributed and fairly common in scattered localities throughout Derbyshire. Mainly recorded from areas in the south of the county
 
ID POINTERS – The most distinctive feature of this moth is the rosewood-red cross band and a mainly grey forewing. The cross-band bordered either side with balck and having two projections on the outer edge. The cross-band can be very variable in intensity of colour and in shape.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing from May – June and from July – August.
