STATUS – A resident species, common and widely distributed throughout Derbyshire. Sometimes found in large numbers and often seen on the wing during the day.
 
ID POINTERS – The overall ground colour is white with a cross-band of  dark & light brown. The pattern of the cross-band can be very variable. There is also a black discal spot. The banding between the subterminal line and the fringe of the forewing is a delicate silver with darker lines and flecks.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing between  May – August.
