Water Carpet Geometridae – Larentiinae – Lampropteryx suffumata – colour code

STATUS – A resident species, that is locally distributed and uncommon in Derbyshire. It is mainly found at scattered sites in the south and central regions of the county.
 
ID POINTERS – The wings are somewhat rounded and pointed. A thick central cross-band with two outer projections. The basal patches and the cross-band are highlighted by an intricate white edging. The ground colour being a pale whitish-brown.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing between  May – June
