STATUS – A resident species that is locally common and widely distributed in well wooded sites in the county. Highest numbers seem to be located in the trent valley.
 
ID POINTERS –  As the name suggests, the central cross-band is either broken or pinched-in. The cross-band patches are edged in intense white as is the basal area making the identification of the species fairly diagnostic.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing between May – July.
