STATUS – A resident species that is locally common and widely distributed and abundant in some parts of Derbyshire. Highest numbers seem to be located in the Peak District, especially on the gritstone moors. It is absent from the southern areas of the county.
 
ID POINTERS –  A spring time species, delicately marked and exhibits a series of greyish cross-lines and bands and chequered veins. These markings distinguish the species from any other spring flying moth
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing between March – April.
