Winter Moth Geometridae – Larentiinae – Operophtera brumata – colour code

STATUS – A resident and present in all areas of Derbyshire. Common by woodlands and hedgerows.
 
ID POINTERS – Most often seen during the autumn & winter months in car headlights. A fairly drab grey-brown coloured moth, small and delicately structured. The females are wingless.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing between October  – Late February.
