STATUS – A resident that is widely distributed and locally common in Derbyshire. Most frequent in the upland areas of the county and in smaller numbers in the southern areas of the Trent Valley but is almost absent from areas of the south.
 
ID POINTERS – A mottled brown coloured moth with cross-lines of brown & creamy white running across the forewing. The “twin-spots” refer to the pair of blackish-brown blobs located just inside the pale cross-line in the leading half of the wing.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing July – August.
