STATUS – A resident but locally common species and widely distributed throughout Derbyshire. The main populations are located in woodlands where the principle food plant, Foxglove is a common plant. 
 
ID POINTERS – This pug has a diagnostic grey central cross-band with its outer edge showing a strong indentation near the leading edge. There are also several orange-brown bands on the forewing.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing May – September.
