STATUS – A resident species that is locally common and widespread throughout Derbyshire. Generally recorded from the south and the Coal Measure areas of central Derbyshire. Rare in the uplands and no records from the Peak Grit area.

 
ID POINTERS – This pug is very conspicuous and diagnostic, being the only white pug with a bluish-grey or blackish blotch on the leading edge of the forewing. Distinctive wing shape and short fat abdomen.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing June – August.
