STATUS – A resident species widely distributed and locally common throughout Derbyshire. Predominantly located in parks and gardens where species of Juniper are found.

 
ID POINTERS – A very variable Pug that is best identified by a small whitish or fawn, plain patch just beyond the blackish central spot in the forewing and two black dashes on the veins between the small central spot and the wing apex, is a good ID pointer for Juniper Pug. The cross-lines vary in intensity but usually are sharply angled near central spot.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing July – August.
