STATUS – Widely distributed and locally common, in the Trent valley and especially in the limestone areas of Derbyshire.
 
 
ID POINTERS – Unmistakeable. An all sooty black moth with the fringes of the forewing edged a chalky white around the wing tip.
 
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing –  May – July
