STATUS – Locally common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Favours urban areas of the central coal measures and the valleys of the rivers Trent & Derwent.
 
 ID POINTERS – Unmistakable. A large moth dappled with black spots over a white ground colour to the wing with a pale yellow basal cross-band and another through the central area of the forewing.
 
 FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing – May – June
