STATUS – A resident that is scarce and locally distributed in Derbyshire. Restricted to the Carboniferous Limestone region, where there are strong colonies and the moth is widely distributed. Found in most of the Derbyshire Dales.
 
ID POINTERS – An unmistakable day flying moth. Shows bold brownish patches on yellow fore and hind wings and this feature is diagnostic.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing May – June
