 STATUS – A resident and common species that is widely distributed throughout Derbyshire. Little colour variation throughout the county.
 
 ID POINTERS – An important feature is the cross-line on forewing beyond the middle, which is fine, strongly- kinked near the leading edge, more or less straight towards trailing edge and a dot in each vein. Ground colour a greyish-brown. 
 
 FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing June – September
