STATUS – A resident that is a fairly common but localised species throughout the lowlands and eastern moors of Derbyshire. It maybe declining in numbers in recent years.
 
ID POINTERS – A large white furry moth intricately marked on the forewings with pale grey arrow-heads and yellow wing veins. The body and wing base is covered in a number of small black spots. Rests with wings held angular to the body sides.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing May – June
