STATUS – A resident species that is locally common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Found in birch woodland throughout the county.

ID POINTERS –  The moth can be told from the Swallow Prominent by the distinct white wedge on the trailing edge of the forewing that extends inwards to almost halfway towards the wing base. The wing colour is a silver-creamy white with prominent black and brown markings along the wing edges.

FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing May – August
