STATUS – A resident species that is generally scarce and locally distributed in Derbyshire. Found more often in ancient woodlands throughout the lowland areas of the county.

ID POINTERS – A thick-set and heavy looking moth that is an overall grey-brown in colour. An obvious comma mark in the pale creamy white central cross band on forewing.

FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing April – May
