STATUS – A resident species that is widely distributed but uncommon in Derbyshire. Found most frequently south of the River Trent and in the Limestone area of the North East.

ID POINTERS – The moth has a very distinctive resting posture. The male has orange-brown antennae which are strongly feathered. The female is larger and usually without the dark central patterning on the forewing. The front legs are very hairy and usually stretched out at rest.

FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing May – June.
