Common Footman – Erebidae – Arctiinae – Eilema lurideola – colour code

STATUS – A resident species in Derbyshire that is widely distributed and locally common.

ID POINTERS – The lead grey forewings curve gently over the body rather than wrapped as in Scarce Footman. Also the yellow collar shows a small central grey area. The yellow stripe along leading edge of forewing narrows distinctly towards the wing tip.

FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing July – August.
