STATUS – A resident species that is widely distributed and locally common throughout Derbyshire. Fairly scarce in the southern lowlands and more common in the Central Grit areas of the county.
ID POINTERS – A broad-winged moth with a ground colour ranging from purplish-brown to pinkish-brown. The kidney mark can be a straw-yellow colour making it very conspicuous. There is also a blackish squared shape splitting the oval & kidney mark.
FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing June – August.
