STATUSA resident species that is widely distributed and locally common throughout Derbyshire. Fairly scarce in the southern lowlands and more common in the Central Grit areas of the county.

ID POINTERS – A broad-winged moth with a ground colour ranging from purplish-brown to pinkish-brown. The kidney mark can be a straw-yellow colour making it very conspicuous. There is also a blackish squared shape splitting the oval & kidney mark.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing June – August.
