STATUSA resident species that is widely distributed and locally common throughout Derbyshire. Generally common in the Trent Valley and the Coal Measures but gets progressively scarce further north into the county.

ID POINTERS – The dark or pale pinkish grey forewing colour that is banded and infused with reddish or darkish-brown is diagnostic. The oval & kidney marks are outlined with a pale yellow and there is a small black spot between the oval & trailing edge. This can be difficult to see on worn specimens.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing May – September.
